Matt grew up on a farm and attended Wakanui Primary School and Ashburton College. After graduating from the University of Otago with Law and Commerce degrees in 2009, Matt worked in Blenheim as a litigator for three years before returning to Ashburton in 2012. Matt joined RMF Silva in August 2023 and specialises in all aspects of rural and residential property transactions, business transactions, trusts and succession planning
Matt is an enthusiastic advocate for all things Mid Canterbury and is actively involved in the community. He is a trustee of the Ashburton Housing and Support Trust which provides affordable accommodation for seniors with limited financial means and he is passionate about public speaking – having been a member of the Ashburton Toastmasters Club since 2017 he regularly judges youth speech contests and since 2019 has presented at the annual Ashburton Youth Leadership Forum. Matt is also an experienced hockey referee and cycles recreationally and competitively.
Most importantly, Matt is a proud family man and enjoys spending time with his partner and their son.
