Katrina grew up in Nelson, spent years abroad in Western Australia, and moved to Mid Canterbury in 2017. Over the past 13 years she has worked as a lawyer in Christchurch, Perth and Ashburton, and joined the RMF Silva team in July 2025.
Katrina is an agri-focused lawyer who genuinely gets the ups and downs of rural life and business. She works with farmers, landowners, and agri-businesses to sort out the legal stuff so you can get on with running your operation. Whether it’s sorting leases, buying or selling property, planning for the next generation, or dealing with the unexpected — she’s here to help with advice that’s clear, down-to-earth, and tailored to you.
She comes from a sheep and beef farming background and now has an ownership interest in a family dairy farm. Katrina has also spent years working closely with people in the agri sector and knows no two farms or families are the same. Her approach is straightforward, practical and aims to make the legal side simpler, so you can protect what you’ve built and plan confidently for the future.
Outside of work you can find Katrina on the squash court, trail running, or planning adventures with her young family.
